Who broke the rules on Herfken's case?

In another colpo-di-scena at the United Nations, Eveline Herfkens, flatly denied that was her fault for allegedly braking the rules of the UN saying that: "was too busy with her job to check whether United Nations rules were being broken by her Dutch housing allowance".

Typical of a Social-Democrat behaviour she instead passed the hot-ball to Dutch Mission to the UN alleging that it was "their job to make sure that rules were being followed". So now, after receiving close to 1.23 Million Dollars in less than 5 years from UNDP, Ms. Herfkens is directly faulting Mr. Frank Majoor for not doing his job.

Claiming she was too busy in a part-time job like hers, is really shocking statement. How can a part-time empoyee who was working only at 50% of the time and getting paid at 138% of a full-time ASG, (225,750.00 USD a year) had no time to check the rules. But she made sure that in every contract to demand: (1) Special Director title, (2) business class flights, and (3) Gold ID an UN-LP.

So she had the time to read the rules and make sure that she get's all entitlements offered for an ASG class, but she skipped actually the pages were a staff signs on his/her obligations versus the organization.

Here is an esclusive document obtained from UNDP Watch from Human Resources - which proves that Ms. Herfkens was a part-timer an being treated specially for her services at the UNDP, thanks to her BF- Melkert.

Maybe now we should expect that Mr. Frank Majoor of Duth Mission to the UN to hand his resignations and accept that was his fault that Herfkens received $280,000 is housing support.

Will see - UNDP Watch will be following closely this scandal.

guess that’s why some of these decision makers went into politics in the first place because they would never be “career International civil servants”. As political appointees or the “chosen” candidates, they practice what all politicians around the world do. Just BS their way through to advance their own goals/politics/or enjoy OPM ( other people money). And I thought this happens only on WALL street

Appreciate your blog, guys (and galls;-)): keep up the good work. It's a gross shame that these "politicians" lie and steal and fill their own pockets. Well, actually, it's well known in The Netherlands: if you completely mess up in Dutch politics, you go to the EU or to the UN... Again, keep up the good work!
