Melkert-Herfkens Affair get's cover page in Dutch Media

Even the slim victory over Obama, didn't help Hillary to get cover page story in Nederlands's papers. The Dutch News focused this morning in yet another lady and Social Democrat, the Eva Leonie Herfkens - EVELINE.

The EVELINE story is showing yet again the behaviour of two former social-democrat leaders in Nederland, Ad Melkert and EVELINE Herfkens, and how they are "assisting the poor".

Here are some of the media this morning:

Vrij-Nederland - from Pieter van Os and Freke Vuijst (Exclusive)

Elsevier - Nederland (from Pieter van Os and Freke Vuijst an Exclusive of www.vn.nl)

Nice Birthday gift for Eveline from the Dutch Media.

It seems that even though she was benefiting from rental subsidy as an ASG, the Dutch govt was paying for her rent in NYC to the tune of $7K per month

Interesting cheminement (as we say in French):

Born in The Hague in 1952, Ms Herfkens studied law and economics at Leiden University, and graduated in 1975
From 1976 to 1981 she worked as a policy officer in the field of development cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 1981 to 1990 Ms. Herfkens was a member of the Lower House of Parliament
(BTW:From 1983 to 1990,married to Eduard Van Thijn, his second marriage, Minister of Home Affairs in the 80's and mayor of Amsterdam from 1983-1994)
From 1990 to 1996, she was Executive Director of the World Bank in Washington DC.
Nov1996-August 1998-Minister w/o Portfolio
Appointed on 3 August 1998 as Minister for Development Cooperation in the second Kok government. Stayed in that function until July 2002(member House of Commons of the staten-Generaal, of 23 May 2002 up to 26 July 2002)

Then we know the rest of the stint in NYC as ASG from Oct 2002 until the UNSG came in last January.
