The UNDP is a secretive organization and so far has kept in the dark every information related to its Chief Finance Officer and Deputy Assistant Administrator, Mr. Darshak Shah. If anyone would dare to search the main website of
UNDP for "
Darshak Shah" will get the following message:
UNDP has no public website on its Bureau of Management, contrary to the corporate disclosure and transparency policies it claims to follow.
Given the failure of UNDP Management to disclose the activities of the Bureau of Management and its Chief Finance Officer, the UNDP WATCH will publish a serious of documents which will shed some light into the secrets of the most powerful man in UNDP's cupola:

I have significant experience in dealing with strategic direction and management of organizations, but also comprehensive knowledge of effective internal controls and appropriate measures that need to be put in place to mitigate risk. My work experience as a member of the UNFCU Credit Committee, a comptroller in a bank to CFO of a multilateral organization, UNDP and my significant managerial experience are an attestation of my effective leadership and management style. UNFCU has been a very valuable partner with whom I have worked closely to foster a working relationship and continued provision of support to staff. |
Personal Statement |
UNFCU provides services to UNDP staff in many locations where banking services would otherwise be extremely complicated to have. I believe that I can play a part in furthering support to our staff that requires support from UNFCU that already gives them so much. The Credit Union is run in a highly professional manner; this resonates in the manner in which I have managed my portfolio, and hence I feel I would be able to add value in providing appropriate advice on the fiscal and risk elements of UNFCU while sustaining the level of service provided to its members. |

this is the transparency we get from an organization who managed 17 billions in development aid money? Shame on Helen Clark !
the 99% is continuing to demonstrate against Wall Street . Think they should instead come and raise their voices against these corrupt practices at UNDP. Its unthinkable that any corporation has no proper public disclosure about its Chief Finance Officer and the process he/she is hired.
Chief Finance Officer and Treasurer at UNDP are kept in total secrecy and no1, I mean it no-one at all levels dare to question their CVs, educational backgrounds, financial and conflict disclosures, and think that both these two individuals CFO and Treasurer have an unlimited ceiling of approval authority in terms of CASH movements at UNDP.
