UNITED NATIONS OFFICES IN NEW YORK OPEN FROM THURSDAY 1 NOVEMBER 2012

The United Nations Secretariat will be open for business commencing 1 November 2012. Currently, offices in North Lawn Building, Library Building, DC1, DC2, 380 Madison, FF Building, Innovation Luggage Building, Albano Building, Teachers' Building, UNFCU Building (Long Island City), Mobil Building, and E. 42nd Street Building are accessible. Renovated floors 1-16 in the Secretariat Building will be accessible on 1 November 2012. Floors 17 and above are not  accessible for now, nor is 3B NLB.   

Staff members occupying offices on these floors should only report to work should their presence be essential. Additional work space (for staff with a laptop or a web enabled device)will be made available  in Conference Room 1, North Lawn Building, as well as 15th Floor Conference Rooms (Secretariat Building) which have power and connectivity. 

All Heads of Departments/Offices should make arrangements to adequately accommodate their staff within their allocated space or additional work space provided. Staff should be informed accordingly by their Departments.   

Staff who can reach their offices safely provided availability of mass transit services, family and other considerations, should report to work as indicated above, commencing tomorrow (1 November 2012).  Staff who are scheduled to travel on official business and pending medical clearance formalities should contact UN MSD in advance, prior to presenting themselves in person.
