UNHCR gives $6 Million to Syria's Minister of Local Administration (UN continues to cooperate with the al-Assad Regime)

DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Local Administration, Omar Ghalawanji discussed with chairman of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Damascus Tarke Kurdi cooperation between the two sides, particularly the procedures taken to prepare a partnership agreement to meet the humanitarian aid at the emergency cases.
"Executive subcommittees in the Syrian provinces have been formed to supervise operations of distributing the humanitarian assistances and guaranteeing justice," Ghalawanji said, appreciating the role of the Red Crescent Organization and the NGOs in helping the citizens during the crisis.

He added that the Local Administration Ministry is doing its best to help the affected people, estimate their needs, affirming that it formed a central emergency committee to monitor the process of distributing the subsidies and humanitarian assistances.

"There will be an agreement between the local administration Ministry and the UNHCR to cooperate in the acts of rehabilitation, preparing centers of shelter receive more citizens and offering monthly cash money for the affected people," Ghalawanji said....

In Syria UNDP's website fails to report the speech of UN Human Rights Chief Navi Pillay !

UN has two faces - the Navi Pillay who calls for immediate world attention to massacres from Syrian Regime - and the United Nations representatives inside the country who deny to report and publish the speeches of its own UN Human Rights Chief as well as Security Council members.

1. UNDP’s partnership with the World Bank needs to be more effective, particularly in fragile and crisis-affected countries. 2. UNDP’s near universal mandate means its technical resources are spread very thinly. The Board does not provide strategic direction. HR management is weak. It has a weak results chain. 3. There is limited evidence of active senior management consideration of cost control. Country evidence points to mixed progress on demonstrating cost-efficiency. 4. The Executive Board is politicised and there is a lack of consensus on the key areas for reform. It is not clear that current plans for change will deliver the required depth and breadth of reform. 5. Evidence gathered at country level was highly critical of UNDP’s ability to deliver results. Its delivery can be undermined by staffing issues and bureaucratic processes. 6. Its performance in fragile states is mixed. It has reasonable training and a range of guidance and analytical tools but struggles to fill posts. 7. There is no evidence that the Climate Strategy was directly guiding resource allocation decisions
