Jens Wandel Challenges: Will the new ASG for BoM discontinue the AMEX Travel Unit

Reservations required (not receipts): UN pays per diem, no receipts needed. So I can stay w/my mother-in-law but get paid for hotel?

Per diem payable for flight time! "In-flight subsistence allowance": airline headphones aren't free but still...you couldn't make this up.

Senior UN officials can fly biz class any flight, others if 9hrs "travel" (not flight). So two 3hr flights + 3hr layover=biz class. Ouch.

Bad news, in some not-so-fun facts: ½ of UN air budget goes to "non-staff" travelers! Now boarding: mtg participants, experts, members



There is one big question for Jens Wandel - will Mr. Director of Bureau of Management have the balls to go against the indian mafia of Travel Unit and discontinue the no-Bid contract for 25 years of AMEX TRAVEL services and decentralize the travel service at the UNDP and its 160+ offices around the globe?
